Fall Is Coming, 2016

Been little indication thus far,

Leaves barely turning,

Afternoons dry and warm.

 

But, this evening,

Just before dusk,

Heard a familiar call.

 

Sandhill Cranes

Chortling overhead,

Heading south again.

 

It’s coming!
